Question..need help with first oil change
I removed the drain plug and it looks like the washer is bonded to it. My question is whether this washer is supposed to come off or does it stay and i add another washer to it. Seems like it should come off since their aren't many threads to begin with. Sorry for blury pic, camera phone. Please someone save me.

Ps. didn't have any problems removing the cover but still gotta tackle the filter, haven't tried it yet.

Nevermind, it came off. The washer appears to be painted with the bolt so it was holding it together. I got a small screwdriver and ran the blade along the line between the bolt and the washer then pushed the blade square into the space and twisted clockwise and the washer popped lose.
All in all, the oil change was fairly painless. The big cover wasn't that hard to remove, did it by myself with no probs. I got the filter off with a pair of channel locks on the first try. I removed the passenger wheel to get the channel locks in there. I also used the plastic bag technique to prevent spillage. It worked ok. I still spilled a very small amount. I'll be using it again.
