Question about my 08 tsx

i just bought the car new about a month ago and something weird happen one day when i was driving and was wondering if its normal or if i should take it in. I was driving down a pretty long hill so i was just coasting all the way down and all of sudden the tranny was downshifting and the rpms were moving around. I've never experienced this before since ive always had standard cars and not automatics. Thanks in advance

Uh, yeah. That's the transmission shifting... automatically.

Probably the grade logic control feature at work. I didn't know about it at first either. It feels a little weird until you know what it is.

from Acura.com:

"GRADE LOGIC CONTROL SYSTEM
The Grade Logic Control System is designed to minimize gear hunting on uphill and downhill driving, and to enhance engine braking when traveling downhill. Drawing upon information supplied by the throttle-angle sensor and vehicle speed, the Grade Logic Control System can determine the slope of a hill by comparing this information with a map stored in the engine computer. Based on this information, Grade Logic Control modifies the shift schedule to hold the transmission in a lower gear for better uphill response or downhill engine braking. This system reduces gear hunting, and reduces shifting by as much as 50%, producing a more refined driving experience. "
