Problem: Bumping Noise when I acclerate

Hello All...I have a automatic TSX with 1700 miles on it...when I put the car in drive(either from park or going from reverse to drive) I get a 'bumping' or grinding type of noise when I accelerate slowly. It is a quick noise but sounds abnormal. It happens about 80% of the time...though once it happens I never hear it again as I'm driving(for example if I accelerate from a stop sign or traffic light there is no noise.)Anyone know what it could be?

Probably the ABS. It is normal for it to make a noise sometimes described as "clunk" or "thunk" or "grinding" shortly after you start moving. It was explained here before, it is some kind auto-calibration or self-test of the ABS. It is normal. I think it happens only once each time the vehicle is started. Mine does it, but you have to really be paying attention to notice it.

Thanks Major...

I wonder if it explains it in the manual(I read thru most of it and didn't see it in there though)...thanks for the quick reply.
