Power window noise

I have an 07 TSX that i bought new a few months ago. I noticed yesterday that the driver side window makes a lot of noise going down. Going up it sounds the way i expect a window to sound but going down its much louder. The window works fine and opens and closes fully. The other windows on the car do not do make this noise. It just sounds like something inside the door panel is straining. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, this same thing happens occasionally to my 07 TSX. It's the oddest thing and usually seems to be caused by temperature changes. It's happened on nearly every window in the car.

Sounds like something my accord used to do. It usually meant that the window channel needed some cleaning (ie: dust/dirt caused the sound as it slid across the moving window).

Open the window all the way, and try cleaning all around (I usually use my MF towel from my car washings). You might need to lube the side channel (that holds the edges of the window)

I just had this very problem on my 06.

I took it to dealership and they lubed up the window track and replaced the upper window seal on the door. Problem solved. I asked the guy at the service desk if this was a known issue and he said it was.

So I'd have your service dept fix it...

I had mine fixed by an Acura technician and it went away for a few weeks. Now, the scratching is back and I am really pissed off..

i get windows squeeling sometimes when putting up or down. in my case, when i clean my car i clean the side tracks and top seal where the window goes into when its all the way up. i also try my best to clean the actual felt seal on the bottom but it's tough with the glass in the way (all the way down)

I think this can be fixed by getting the guys at Acura to replace your window actuator, if I remember correctly.

I had the scratching/squeeking window problem on my driver's side window for my '04 TSX, and they replaced that part.

Haven't heard a noise from my window since. I had mine fixed under warranty, but I think if you're out of warranty, the part costs an arm and a leg, so if you can live with it, probably just trying lubing the tracks and other parts often.

When I got my car serviced I told them about the squeaky window problem. They wrote in the report that the window tracks were dry, re-lubed, and the problem went away, at least for now. it's been about 3 months

I recently noticed a grinding noise when raising/ lowering the window, soon after that the window would seem to get stuck midway and would not go all the way up. Needless to say, with a little persuation I managed to get the window all the way up.
Spend last weekdend taking the door panel apart and realized that it was a combination of the hot weather causing the rubber window guides to swell and causing the window to seize midway. The seized glass also put a lot of strain on the steel cable which had some strands broken off and becoming stuck in the tracks.
Does anybody know if you can just change the cable, or do I have to change the whole assembly?

According to the Acura parts site (the Honda OEM site) the regulator is all one piece. You can't buy the parts separately. Oddly enough, the passenger door regulator is about $26 more than the driver door

It also appears to include the motor.

My driver window makes a horrible screeching sound when going down. But this only happens when its cold out. This happened 3 years ago, and then one day there was a loud snap and the window was stuck down. Wouldn't work at all. So i paid 400 bucks for the dealer to replace the motor.

Well that lasted a few years and now its doing it again. I don't want to pay the dealer this time so i'd like to fix it myself. Since nothing broke YET i wonder if i can just clean the tracks or lubricate them? I guess the first time it got so bad it broke the motor or cable. Maybe this time its still early enough to prevent it.

Note it only happens the first 5 min in the morning. The rest of the day it works fine no problems or noises. Also when it DOES make the grinding noiseif you press the window outward while rolling it down it does not make the noise and seems to relieve the pressure. So it must be the tracks. But i don't have a helm's manual to take off the door panel.
