This recently happened that when I turn the wheel, the power steering is LOUD. It still works but groans loudly and even when driving I can hear it in the cabin. Is this a problem? Will it escalate into a bigger one?

 

this turned out to be a leaking high pressure hose that seems to be a common problem in TL's. The guy at the shop told me that the TL owners got a full refund for the reapair from Acura. However, the TSX is not so common.

 

How much does it cost to repair?

 

Interesting. I wonder if this is related to the groaning I hear sometimes when I make sharp left or right turns, or if it just might be power steering fluid, or something else. It doesn't happen all the time, so it's hard to pinpoint. I've had the dealer check it out and they said they can't find anything wrong.

 

I would check the drive belt as well, as it can create noises in that area.

 

270 for the GD hose from acura and 50 for the labor at the shop.

 

What do you mean very loud?

When I turn the steering wheel @ Idle, my rpm will pump up a bit and there's some noise, but it didn't happen when the car is moving.

 

it was loud because all the fluid leaked out. The high pressure hose was changed, and my mechanic informed me that there was a recall on this item and that if I took my receipt to Acura, I would be refunded. Is this true?

 

can you tell what the recall bulletin number is so i can get mine fixed
