Power steering pump
Power steering pump
In July, I took my car into the dealership and they stated that I had a power steering leak and it was covered under my warranty and a recall. They fixed it. Today, while driving my power steering went out again. I took my car into the dealership and as we were pulling in, it made a very loud noise and dump tons of fluid as well as oil. Any idea what is wrong with it and if it is the power steering pump, shouldn't they replace it as it was just fixed.
Since it's at the dealer (or was) can't they tell you what blew up? I guess we could assume that it's the pump or a line (unlikely though if they did the recall) since there isn't much else to it. How old is your car? Your car must be a CPO, or it must be a late purchase 08, or perhaps you have have an extended warranty. It's now 9-012, and virtually all the 1st gen cars are at least 4 years old and should be off warranty. Plus, the bad news is that no matter what expired, or who pays for it, you going to have to get it fixed.
