Possible Injen Cai Problem

I had a Injen CAI problem recently installed on my '07 TSX. I had it done at a shop where I have taken my previous cars for brake. rims. intake etc. with no problems. The day after I had my CAI installed I noticed a "rubbing" noise that is intermittent. It only happens from a standing start when accelerating and when I let go of the clutch, but never any other time. It sounds like plastic or rubber rubbing together or what I can best describe it as. I took it back but the sound didn't happen when I took it and he didn't see anything wrong with it. I will be taking it back again or to another guy altogether soon, but has anyone ever had this problem with their Injen CAI? I am getting nervous thinking it may be something serious but the car drives fine other than the noise. I am thinking he didn't put the bumper back on right. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Did he put in both vibration mounts?

There should be one on the battery and then another one down by the lower part of the intake. Also wiggle it and make sure it's not rubbing on something.

Injen says 20 good turns is more then enough for the vibra mount connected to the battery...maybe their on too tight?

He did put them on but I have not checked if he put them on too tight. I will start there. Thanks for the input.

Btw; highly un-likely but I would also check to see if the whole set-up (if you’re running CAI) is aligned properly in the sense that the longer pipe is not hitting the frame of the TSX causing it to vibrate…

...more than likely either one of your vibra mounts are on too tight or one is broken.

I took a quick look and the vibra-mount closest to the resonator opening has broken off. Any idea if Injen or one of their dealers can order one for me?

I haven’t looked into it, but it’s a pretty common problem, you shouldn’t have a problem finding a replacement.
