Pop when jacking up my car

So question...

I was jacking up my car and there was this really loud pop. Like I'm talking gunshot loud pop. I lowered the car like immediately and drove it around. Everything seems to be totally fine, the ride isnt worse and the tire is fine. I don't know it I'm imagining it but the road noise might be louder, although I could just be listening harder. Anything this could have been that I should get checked out? It scared the shit out of me...

Which end were you jacking up? I.e. which wheels were still on the ground?

front right... back and front left were still on the ground. The wheel I was jacking up was still resting on the ground as well.

Hmmm, maybe just normal suspension creak with the weight being unloaded from the springs and being shifted to the left front? At least, that would be my guess. The suspension takes a bit more flex in this way. I'm usually using the jack point in the middle (front or back) with both wheels going up at the same time.

Did u check the jack itself?

If you jacked it up correctly there should not be any points that would be overstressed to do that.

not at all like the normal creaks and cracks I hear when jacking up... I mean this was seriously loud. But I guess I'm not super worried cause the car seems to be running fine. I mean, I don't think anything is critical at least.

that's what I'm thinking... that it could have been the jack. Sometimes they pop etc.

Don't know what you mean about points being overstressed... this happend in the process of jacking it up, didn't have it all the way up yet. Sorry if I didnt clarify that.

Points of stress would be the suspension and even maybe the transmission as they are taking on the extra load with that wheel being jacked up. If you didn't block your rear wheels, there's always a possibility that the car shifted a bit.

Do you have coilovers?

When you jack the car up high the spring might be becoming unseated.

If the spring preload setting is adjusted correctly, the spring should never come off the spring perch when the car is lifted, unless one uses the spring perch to lower the car past the initial preload height.

It's the spring extending. I get that loud pop sound too, not only with the Accord Euro, but with a 94' Accord other brands (Mitsubishi).

Same here...jacking up the front right and the same pop. Freaked me out at first, but all is still well with the car.

Could be a broken rear end link. Mines made a loud popping sound while I was turning into a drive. I took it to the dealer and sure enough, my left rear end link had snapped in half.

I have not personally experience this, but in terms of feel, i would guess you car will be very unstable when you are making a hard turn.

You can always check the endlink by crawling underneath the car and inspect them yourself.

There was a slight metal to metal tapping sound whenever I made turns that had dips (high driveways, corners with dips, etc). Also, it won't feel as tight while making turns on streets or curves on freeways.
