poor match of premium white touch-up
I have attempted to touch-up some small scratches/rock chips with the official Acura premium white touch up paint. The color match has been poor - it looks light gray. I shook the container for over 1 minute so I believe the paint was mixed well. Any suggestions on getting a better match?

Your going to have to get the whole panel redone then have a shop blend it towards the old paint.
Since your car has been in the sun it will change colors and new fresh paint won't age yet.

well, if it makes you feel any better their CGP touch up paint sucks just as much.
It's very flat, non shimmering, and a touch darker when fully dry.
Junk.
Nice to know we have such good quality touch up paint on a car who's paint
quality is probably the absolute worst in the industry.
American Car Paint FTW!

I also have the Premium White Pearl (PWP) Tsx. Forget about that touch up paint bottle. It is crap. You can shake it until the next century. I found that a better idea was to use Liquid Paper (That is right, the stuff you use to corrent ink pen mistakes when writing!!) or White Out as it is also known. They have several types but I found that the "just for copies" variety is the best. I even tried that paint in small bottles you buy in Hobby shops to paint plastic models. The White Out works better. When using, shake well and apply it lightly and sparingly. It does a much better job covering the dented paint and rock ships than the touch up paint.
There is a problem with taking it to the paint shop. If you going to take it to the paint shop every time you get a dent or rock ship, you are going to be living at the paint shop. You will there every month. There is no way to avoid those rock ships or dents. The only way to avoid if you leave your car parked in your garage and not use it. So guys, enjoy your TSXs and keep that bottle of White Out in the globe box

Buy the PEN, not the little jar. The pen, as far as I know, isn't sold at American Honda/Acura dealers. It was/is only sold in Canada, or on eBay.
It's an OEM Honda/Acura product and works very very well. One side is a somewhat thick base white, and the other side of the pen is the pearl clearcoat. The results on my car two years ago were miles ahead of the jar/brush they originally gave me when I bought the car 3 years ago.

All - Thanks for the comments.
At least I know that I wasn't doing anything wrong. The touch up paint is apparently not very effective.
curls,
Thanks for the tip. I will be purchasing the pen off ebay. I wonder why they don't sell this pen in the US?
