Polished plastic by accident =\

So i was cleaning my car and noticed there was an eraser sized spot on the main storage bin cover thats under the A/C. I couldn't get it out with water so i ended up using plastic polish but didn't think twice about how the polish would ruin the matte finish of the plastic... Now there's a handball sized shiny spot in the middle of the cover. Is there anyway i can reverse this effect? I was thinking sandpaper but it would probably just make it look all scratched up and junk.

You're going to have to replace the entire pocket. That finish is gone, unfortunately. Do a search for online oem parts vendors. They'll typically be cheaper than your local acuar dealer, unless you can get them to come close with a price match.

oi, maybe i can find the part off a totaled TSX or something. The entire assembly (Center Pocket Assembly) is $63 on Acuraoemparts.com. I was thinking about just getting an acura logo sticker to put over the shiny spot haha. It wouldn't look too bad i think.

I think you're going to have to replace the whole part. I'd do that over putting a sticker on there.

Well i mean its not bad enough to warrant a whole new part for $63. If it was like $20 though i would jump on it. I'll just look in the classifieds of some forums, ebay, and local part yards or something.

I did the exact same thing to my trim, but since it was a little ragged anyway I decided to repaint it instead, check out this thread

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-problems-fixes-128/paint-match-console-trim-733504/

It turned out great and only cost about 7 bucks and a couple hours. I never post those pics but I'll try to get a few uploaded.
