Paint to match console trim?
Paint to match console trim?
Does anybody happen to know of a paint that will match the ebony interior trim (center console, cupholder door, "not an ashtray" door, etc.)?
Mine is starting to wear off in some areas and I can't find cheap replacements. Is anything like this available through Acura?

FYI I found a paint that is just about a perfect match. (found it at Autozone)
Dupli-Color Import Auto Spray - Graphite Grey Metallic (8800928)
I was going to do a diy with pics on repainting the trim pieces, but I followed the instructions on the can and it's pretty self explanatory.
Took out bin compartment, shifter console/cupholders, and "not an ashtray" compartment.
Remove heated seat switches, shift boot, and cupholder assembly.
Unscrew top of cupholder door (7 screws) and snap out.
Sand compartment doors, shifter console and cupholder door with 400 grain sandpaper. Remove debris with water/compressed air and lint-free rag.
Mask off any areas you don't want paint on, and spray 3-4 light coats.
That's it! Texture is slightly rougher than stock, but perhaps a couple coats of clear would take care of that. Trim looks brand new! Put everything back together and enjoy that showroom fresh look.
