Planning to change my AT fluid ... any tricks & tips?
Car is '04 TSX with AT, with 75k miles.
I did an AT fluid flush at the dealer about 32k miles ago.
I think that now it may be time to at least change the AT fluid again.
I have done it on my 03 Nissan Maxima and i know that the AT fluid drain and refill, replaces only 50% of the fluid, unless you do a full diy AT flush (disconnect AT fluid lines from radiator, run the car, use 12 qts of fluid, etc.)
On the Acura, i am not sure if a diy flush will be as easy or even necessary.
I have a few questions:
- What is your experience with this procedure? How easy is it to do AT fluid drain and refill??
- How easy is to do complete diy flush at home??
- Do i need to buy AT fluid from the Acura dealer or i can get another recommended brand from Auto parts store?
- How much fluid do i need for such procedure? My Maxima required 12 qts for the full flush.
Thank you!
