Passenger Door Rattle

I have a 2006 TSX and i noticed there's a rattle after going over severely bumpy roads. I've had it for about two weeks now, these rattles did not occur when i first picked it up. Does anyone else have this problem with their '06?

Is it the door? B/c I have an '06 and think its coming from the passenger side A-piller right where it meets the dash.

come to think of it, it is the passenger A-pillar. However, i am unsure if it is where the dash meets the door, its sounds if it's higher up though.

Squeaks and rattles have been an ongoing issue with some TSX's. You either choose to live with it, fix it yourself, or take it to the dealer, try to duplicate it for them, then let them fix it. Sometimes they do more harm than good.

I'll either live with it or fix it myself. Tearing a dash or A-pillar apart WILL do more harm then good. I have an idea or two to fix it anyway.

I've noticed a rattle coming from the insert around the window lift buttons on the drivers side of my 06. Seems to happen when the temperature is in the 70's but goes away either colder or hotter. Any others with this same rattle?

Yup, I have the same rattle. It is not always present, and there seems to be no consistent conditions that make it happen. I think it comes from the A-pillar. The Honda Accord LX I had before my TSX had the exact same rattle in the passenger side A-pillar, very annoying.

I am taking my car in to the dealer Wednesday to get the creaking driver's seat fixed... hopefully they can find something on this rattle too.

possible solution

I had the same type of problem and couldn't figure it out until one day I realized the obvious: the rattle only occured when no one was in the passenger seat. It turned out that the seat belt buckle was tapping up against the hard plastic next to the passenger door (B-pillar?). This was due to the seat belt being a bit twisted after my last passenger got out of the car. So all I did was turn the buckle around and the sound was gone. hope this helps!

Glad that did it for you ....but unfortunately this rattle that seems to come form the A-pillar occurs with or without a passenger wearing their seatbelt...at least for me it does.

After installing my sideskirts I discovered the same type of rattle. I thought it was the door but it was the sidekirts so I put rubber washers in between the skirts mounts and the car where the 4 screws and clips go and now I have zero rattles...

TSX420J,

What do you mean by sidekirts?
and how easy it's to fix the rattle?

On the outside bottom sides of our cars there are sideskirts they are fastened by two or three clips and two screws on the bottom.. Try bumping your sideskirt with your hand and see if you hear a rattle.... If you do use some thin rubber washers to deaden the sound...

i had a similar one like this, except it happened whenever the midbass hits on the speakers. i was able to push down on certain spots of the door to eliminate the sound. So i took the door panel off; it was a loose tab vibrating

Awsome, gonna take my door apart and tighten the screws and insulate the wires. Where is the link for removing door panel instruction?
