passenger airbag light

Has anyone had this problem before. the Passenger Airbag light comes on but then it goes off.. and continues coming on and off as i'm driving. My car has about 1800miles on it so its pretty new.. I've just experienced this problem tonight as i noticed the light wouldnt go off after i've turned the car on and all the sensors light go off.

If there is something in the passenger that is under a certain weight (think small child), the passenger airbag light will turn on, indicating that the airbag has been disabled to avoid more harm than good if the airbag were to deploy. The light will also come on if passengers don't sit properly (leaning excessively forward or to the side) or in your case, a backpack with a laptop inside.

^^When I take my dog to the groomers, the light will flicker on and off b/c it senses some weight and the none. If you put your backpack on the floor, you won't see this happen again; totally explainable issue.

Not noob at all, things like this are easily forgotten. Covered on p. 33 of the manual (2007, your year may differ) if you're curious.
