P2422 Evap Can + Valve replacement procedure

Acura 17011-SDA-A00 Vapor Canister Assembly - comes with 2 o-rings
Acura 17315-SDA-A02 Vapor Canister Filter

above items can be replaced separately eg. if you only want to replace the filter/solenoid

It's up to you to do diagnostics I just replaced all items since it was the "easiest" thing to do and eliminates them from possibilities. I went third party for the canister but acura for the solenoid/vent. Together was about $300 CAD. Dealer is almost $500 parts only.

Jack car up safely. Best to jack up all 4 corners. You'll need to crawl under in front of left rear wheel.
Remove left rear wheel.

You'll need 10mm and 12 mm sockets, small flat screwdriver for body clips.

Remove rectangular plastic shield 2 bolts, the rest are clips.
Remove small plastic shield covering canister- push in tabs on upper side- there are 4.

There are 2 rubber hoses connected to canister (1 rubber hose has orange clip securing it- press on two sides of orange clip and pull to remove- note the orange clip goes onto the lip of the male side of connection))
1 sensor on canister. sensor has electrical connector + 1 small rubber hose.

filter has 2 rubber hoses

The "tricky" process is remembering where the longer electrical connector and small rubber hose is routed.

Remove emergency brake cable hanger last as it holds up the canister for you to work (12mm bolt).

The canister is supported by 2 10mm bolts and 1 12mm bolt. Do not remove these three bolts right away as you may need another hand to hold the canister up while removing rubber hoses/electrical connectors.
There are also 2 plastic prongs from a plastic box on top of the canister. use pliers to pinch these prongs and the box will disconnect.

There is also one plastic bracket that holds 2 hoses. bracket is located at side of canister (rear of car)- this bracket is near impossible to remove unless everything else is removed- so just don't bother trying.

Note do not remove any metal hoses- they may be fuel and you don't want it leaking, nor does it need to be removed.
Take lots of pictures if you can't remember where things go.

Once everything is out push out grey clip with small pick and lift sensor upwards- don't use force as the sensor connector is thin plastic.
Take pictures of orientation of sensor. use new o-ring for sensor if available.

Also stay clean so debris doesn't fall into an hoses / new parts.

remove steel bracket and transfer to new canister- take note where the bolts go- there are 4 holes- you only use 2.

tip - use (only a little) rubber grease for connectors/hoses when assembling -makes life easier.
put everything back.

reset DTC codes

drive around and P2422 shouldn't return- mine didn't
be sure your gas cap is also tight - though unlikely to be the cause of this issue
