P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire

2006 TSX, yesterday i went to the store, when i pulled out the idle was erratic and it is definitely not running right.

Im in CA so shops won't scan for free so I bought a OBDII scanner and got code P0303.

Should I just start replacing coils? Any ideas of where to begin?

Fridge died three weeks ago, my daughter will be 2 in September and I have another daughter coming right around then...this repair wasn't really in the budget lol.

Thanks in advance

What thoiboi said, could be plug and/or coil. Most likely the coil. I had my #2 died on me and it was about $100 in stores like autozone and o'reilly. I got my on amazon for about $60. If you can hold of driving for a bit, get it at amazon. Cheaper, looks OEM, and made in Japan. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So i swapped the coils around and the misfire is still on cylinder 3.

Was going to swap out plugs but my extension wasn't long enough lol.

Will try the plug today/tonight and see how it goes.

Are the cylinders sequential? And is 1 on driver or passenger side?

i.e.

Passenger 4 3 2 1 Driver

or

Passenger 1 2 3 4 Driver

or are the like 1 3 2 4 or something weird?

Also best plug to go with is the NGKs?

Thanks

They only made a 4 cylinder for the 1st gen. It goes from passenger to driver 1 2 3 4. Make sure you clear out the code when swapping. Good luck.

Picked up 4 new spark plugs.

Going to swap out #3 during lunch and see if its any better. Plan on replacing them all but ill do the other 3 after work (hoping i get it fixed during lunch)

if it was an 02 sensor or something, i should be seeing codes in addition to the misfire, correct?

Correct.

it could also be fuel-related but check spark first. then fuel then air maybe.

Threw a spark plug in during lunch and it seems to be running way better.

Going to replace the other 3 after work and close everything up. Looks like it was just a worn plug...thought they were replaced recently but ill double check paperwork. Was clean, no oil, etc, just looked worn
