Question One year later.... 1st to 2nd (MT)

Well it's hard to believe that my baby will be one year old on Tuesday, but I did drive it home in April of '03! Except for a few small scratches, it's still as prestine as that fatefull day.... ignoring all the pollen that makes it dirty 8 hours after I wash it! :P

Anyhow, after a LONG break from forums (about 11 months? Provench, do you remember me? ), I've returned with a year's worth of TSX experiences and about 10.5k miles.

A quick question for the MT bunch out there. Getting the stick into 2nd seems significantly harder from a mechanical feeling than into any other gear. Like, it slips into 1st, 3rd - 6th like butter, but I always have to fight just a little to get it into 2nd.

Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have any ideas what might be the cause? I generally drive moderately... a sprinkling of aggressive but not often and not that hard.

I'm just about to make an appt for my 10k/1-year service, so I'll ask them about it then if no one here has noticed the same.

I also have a question about the accuracy of the thermometer, but I'll post that in a different thread...

Thanks-

-V

Welcome back

Both your issues have been discussed in length several times. A search should help you find your answers.

I just spent 45 minutes searching and reading old threads, and I only found an occassional bit here and there about this problem, and not a single follow-up. So.... let me ask again:

I find that shifting, whether up or down, is always harder to get into 2nd gear than any other. It doesn't make any bad noises, it's just physically harder to get the stick into the slot. The others are effortless, they just slide in. That one I have to noticeably pull in harder and unless I'm consciously thinking about overcoming it before I start the shift, there's a resulting small lag of getting it in.

Thanks....
