Oil Leak!!

Discovered some drops of oil in my garage yesterday. Just bought this car 2 days ago, previous owner had it parked in his garage for about 7 months. Can't seem to locate where the leak is coming from, any feedback is much appreciated!

The area is more or less below the oil filter. I'd suggest an oil and filter change anyway since the car had been sitting. First, you might want to stick your hand up and rub along the bottom edge of the filter to check for moisture there. After the change, wipe off what you can and wait (if you haven't done a TSX oil filter change, you'll find it's a messy job under the best of circumtances). Oil leaks are not commmonly reported here, I'm guessing the filter is/was weeping a little.

That crossmember is the classic location for some oil to sit after an oil change. The oil pattern looks very much like sloppy oil change residue.

However, having said that, after sitting the oil filter o-ring is a likely weeper. Agree 100% on the oil change and filter (you'll see where the oil goes).

The one concern I have is the pattern around the intermediate shaft bearing (second picture) could, just could, be the bearing tossing out grease as it dies. I'm just sensitive to this occurance because it happened to me and was very tough to locate. Search the 55-60 mph vibration threads if you want to know more.

nasty looking . Did you give the filter a turn to see if it's loose?
