Oil fill cap rubber O ring?

I had to purchase another oil fill cap and noticed that the parts diagram also shows a rubber gasket that sits like a washer in between the oil cap and valve cover.
I am not sure if the TSX is supposed to have one or not? I only get about 1 turn if using the rubber o ring gasket with the oil filler cap.

if its on the diagram, then it belongs there. if you dont have one then it simply fell out during a service

Sure. Reason I guess I asked is because with the O ring in place the oil cap doesnt seem to close correctly. With correctly I mean the writing on the oil cap no longer horizontal.

Is it possible that the cap came with the gasket already installed and you didn't need to purchase a separate gasket? I say this because the gasket sits flush in the cap and unless you look closely you might not even notice it.

Of course.

Long story short I needed a replacement oil cap as mine was breaking and I didnt want pieces of it going into the engine. I reviewed Bernadi Acura online( and bought from them ) parts catalogue. It shows the oil filler cap but also an O ring. I ordered both, however I dont think you need to use the O ring as the O ring once in place doesnt allow the cap to fully close. You can only get a quarter of a turn when O ring is present. If you look closer at the oil fill plug you can see an already present O ring fitted. The one that I ordered seperately is larger and totally unsure what its used for.

Thanks

I bought an aftermarket one a few months ago after the OEM one (2004) literally broke in two (the top became separated from the threaded part).

Scary stuff, luckily nothing fell (nothing material anyway) into the engine.

Most probably grease monkeys over tightening it. Acura should have designed the thread part not to be hollow and solid so that it wouldnt crack.
