well i got very bad news for you guys

i lent my g/f my nhb tsx and she has put diesel fuel in the gas tank

about $10 worth of it

the cars batery died as soon as the car didnt want to run no more due to the fuel error

i have taken it to the local acura dealer and i am awaiting for an estimate on how much damage this might have cost me

so ill keep u guys updated

I was just about to say that.
Diesel nozzles ARE bigger. Quite a bit bigger actually that it shoudl have made you wonder about why it didn't fit.

My cousin sort of did that too. What an idiot. The nozzle didn't fit and he basically held the nozzle to the fuel tank the whole time and filled up the whole way. Then he didn't even realize what he did and started driving. His dad's accord rolled for about 5 feet then sputtered and died.
He had to pump it out of the tank. Then he filled it with the proper gas and it took a while to startup. but it eventually did and is running fine.

I think your TSX should be ok. But.. yea... like it's been said here already. Have her make it up to you by letting you stick it in the pooper.

happened to my friend once when we drove to canada.

they'll drain the fuel tank and add unleaded gas (probably rape you on service $$$). it's not going to break the engine

 

Yeah, not much damage should be sustained. Maybe at worst you'll eventually need to replace the gas filter, but that should be it. The fact that the car won't run is because the diesel won't ignite unless it's heated close to it's flashpoint.

 

Dayum, that sucks! I hope she learned something in the process........

And that's not an insult to his girl. It should, however, be a mandate for all girls who do foolish things to our cars. I'm gonna go write a letter to congress now.
