bought my TSX 6MT back in late March - waited 2 months for it and on the day i went to pick it up the dealer had installed 3 options by mistake. i guess they had me confused with another customer and it was a new service tech who screwed up

the options were (1) oem rear spoiler, (2) interior metal trim and (3) the door edge strips. i instantly hated the door edge strips - the cool thing was they were easy to remove.

the interior metal trim i was ok with and the spoiler i wasn't that revved about. now 2 months on i am increasingly unhappy with the look of the spoiler especially given i didn't ask for it.

what do you think my chances are of getting the dealer to remove it - i understand they would have drilled the trunk lid to fit it - so i guess they will have to replace the sheet metal or simply fill it.

any thoughts or reccos appreciated...

Hmm...sounds to me like you shoulda had the dealer fix it right then and there when you bought the car. Taking it back now, the dealer would likely replace the whole trunk lid. Filling it wouldn't be that cost effective because they would have to strip the clear coat off the whole thing to repaint it properly, anyway.

 

IF i was the dealer, I'd just swap the trunk with another car but then that would run into VIN number issues...seeing as how cars these days have VIN #s all over.

 

i had waited 2 months for a new car, my old leased focus was already returned - ie the lease was up. also they said they would handle at the first service - i cannot wait that long now
