'06 w/86,000 miles. Sometimes, starting in the last three months, the drivers map light will not light...neither on door opening nor on pushing the lens...the passenger light functions normally.

Here's the screwy bit, if I cycle the passenger light between 5 and 20 times, the drivers light will usually start to function again.

OK, so a loose connection is the easy thought, but before I start tearing into things, I'd like to here from anyone that has opened up this area or had similar issues.

Search only located problems with door sensor (not here, because it doesn't work at all for a while) or with new LEDs (still stock).

 

I had a similar issue the other day. my passenger MAP light went out and so I figured the bulb blew so I purchased new ones and went to replace and before I even had the cover off something sounded like it slide back in place and the light worked. I dont know how it would of got loose but maybe its worth a look under the map cover light to check if its loose or misaligned and maybe with the cycling your doing it jiggles it in place....worth a try...
