Anyone have one of these? I'm was planning on purchasing this one in the next couple days. http://www.scantool.net/software/sca...shtml#features
Anyone have one of these currently or know any pros or cons about any in particular? I think it will be a fun toy to have around.

I picked one up a couple years ago but I think my dad or my uncle have permanently confiscated it because I haven't seen it in months.
It's a cool tool to have but it's not something you really need to use a lot.

Yeah -- i'm thinking it would be cool to do some graphing of the a/f ratio, iat and air flow readings, between stock intake and icebox and some data logging of timing advance during any changes. Just for fun..nothing important at all.
I'll also be able to use it for my g/fs car...2000 hyundai accent with a CEL that likes to turn itself on and off like twice a month, haha.
I used to have one that connects to a laptop, but later sold it when I bought the Hondata which came with all the features and more.
Last year I got another one as a gift that connects to a PDA. It works well but not as robust as my previous scantool. I always bring it to the dyno to verify settings.
If you are interested in buying one, Ease is the better one out there. http://www.obd2.com/
The coolest thing about a scantool is the ability to read and reset error codes without going to the dealer.

Here is an example... I disconnected an sensor under the hood simulating a sensor failure. Turn the ignition on and the CEL indicated a problem.
Scantool connected: A list of available options are displayed. Note the 0-60 time.

Error code: When I click on the "Check Engine" option, the error code is displayed. Note the error number P0113. This code is available in the service manual for more info and troubleshooting steps. If you don't know the code, you won't know where to start.

Clear error code: So I corrected the problem and click the "clear codes" option, a confirmation screen is disaplayed.

Code cleared: It registers the date/time when the code was cleared.
