Is this normal?
Is this normal?
I have a 2005 automatic TSX. When I accelerate and then let go of the gas the car seems to shrug quite a bit. The transmission doesn't seem to be very smoothe, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I don't know how to really describe it. It also feels very rough when i accelerate sometimes and not just when i let go of the gas.
When you say "shrug," does it feel like it's locked in a gear or something? It sort of sounds like something I might have too, does anyone know if this is normal? It seems to happen most when I'm going down a hill and let off the gas - suddenly it seems the car won't upshift or something. Then everything seems fine when I go back on the gas again. Just wondering if it's normal or if it's a tranny problem and I should get it looked at? I have a hard time telling especially since I bought the car certified used - I don't know what was normal. (I have a 5AT)
Yeah, sort of I guess. It all depends on at what point down the hill I let off the gas, too. It just feels like it's holding back or something, but then it goes away when I go back on the gas. It's strange, but this is my first car with DBW too, and my first Honda, etc. If it's normal, I'll just have to get used to it. Thanks for responding.
The car won't change gears during the downhill or even at the point when the hill ends because of the logic transmission. Its trying to help in braking. I just put the tranny in M mode and upshift myself. I don't know about th rough shifting though.
