Noise
Noise
I have a '07 TSX with just over 67k and for the past few months I have been hearing a noise from the front right wheel. It normally happens when I am stopped and then turn left. The sound is not harsh and is somewhat metallic and sounds like something is rubbing. I decided that I would raise the question on my next service. So I took the car in on Tuesday and picked up my loaner. They called later that afternoon requesting another hour of diag for $110 since they could hear it but couldn't pin point it. They call me later on and say that both of my front wheel bearings are bad...right one making more noise than the left. They quote me $610 to replace and my warranty wouldn't cover it. I say no since I have already spent $310 (B1) on the service. They call back 10 minutes later and say that it is covered by warranty and they will replace free of charge.
I get a call on wednesday night stating that they had broken a wheel speed sensor that will need to be ordered.
Thursday night they call me and say everything is complete but there is still a noise. The service person mentions the noise has changed some but they need another day to figure out what is going on.
So this leads me to this afternoon where I just got a phone call that they are blaming my front struts to the tune of $645. I told the service person that I had to think about it since they first blamed the bearings and that didn't fix it. Funny thing is she said somehow they were able to get my emissions warranty to cover it. After the first mistake should I trust this diagnosis? Should struts go bad at this mileage? Does a bad strut make noise?
With the first fix not working I am hesitant to trust them and spend the money. I have until Monday to let them know. Opinions?
