Navi problem

Does anyone know whats the pc card is for? Im just wondering if i can put my navi dvd on a memory card for something.

The reason im asking is because i have 2 woofers in the trunk and a 1000 watt amp and there is so much bass that i guess it make my navi from running. I have got this message 3 times that said Error.... please contact dealer. So i took out the dvd and made like 10 different formatted copy's just in case it get messed up.

PC Card slot is only for use by the factory. It won't read a standard PC card when placed in the slot and is basically only used to write out data onto the card. Error, contact dealer sounds like something in the drive is dirty or needs to be cleaned. And yes the thumping of the bass can be causing the laser to jump around in there.

You can try. A new navi disc is ~ $180 while replacing the whole DVD drive unit is ~ $3,000. I had a roommate who could take the drive apart carefully inside and clean the laser mirror and some other parts that were covered with a plastic like haze and the unit only occasionally will not boot now. It's much better than before when all I would get is the Error - See Dealer message.

Well here the thing im going to try to make another copy of the dick asap and see if that works, since i dont know what format to burn it in i may need to do a few times. I had some what the same problem a few months back when i had one woofer and i put a ring scratch on the dvd but the dealer replaced the dvd and i still think i was because of pot hole that did that ring.

I successfully backed up 2 copies of it. just do a simple cd->cd copy using DVD+R DL.

Oh and burn at a low speed (I usually do 2.4x), just in case.

Cool Backup / Copy Navigation CD Version 3.80 for 2004 TSX

Wondering if any one has been successful in getting a backup copy of Orange DVD Ver 3.80 to work in their car?

I purchased the original but wanted to run a copy in my car. I was successfully able to rip the DVD to my hard drive and copy it with no problems. I saved the book type as DVD-ROM, ran it at 2.4x using Nero software. When I put the DVD in my car the navigation system reads "Unable to read DVD-ROM, contact Dealer".

Can anyone help with this? Has anyone gotten it to work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

lateeky, what program did you use?
What blank DVD you use (DVD-R, DVD+R or DVD+R DL)?
it's important. Possibly you'll need DVD-copy software with DVD copy protection workaround, like Alcohol 120%, or Daemon Tools Pro
I'll try to copy Navi DVD mysef, as soon, as i find and download proper image of original Navi DVD starting from version 3.60 and higher.
If someone can help - just notify me

i just had my dealear replace my navi unit in the trunk, they said it was an internal issue, most likely the lense and it scratched the cd. Good thing i was still under warranty but it's taking them a week to send me the cd =[
