A couple of times my Navi says disc read error, has anybody encountered this problem before. I don't know if I should take it to the stealership. What i did was just take the dvd out wipe it with a soft cloth and put it back in the drive. It works ok for now buy i hope it doesn't happen again.

If you have a sub in the trunk it could be shaking the Navi unit in the trunk damaging the DVD disc.

Right now I got the same problem with my disc. I Think my disc is mess up or something.

I've had this occur a few times as well. In each of the occurances, I hadn't driven over any hard bumps in the road. The worst happened when I was parked - I had to take the DVD out and reinsert it 3-4 times before the error message would go away. The disc doesn't seemed scratched and I had the dealership look at it but of course, they didn't find anything wrong since it's such a random error.

i took mine to the dealer and they did some diagnostics on it, they said nothing was wrong and they couldn't do anything unless the problem is happening at the moment. Dealer sux! Since than the problem hasn't happened only once. its been 2wks.

do you guys know if it's possible to burn this disk? I am thinking I should make a backup if I can

My Navi just contiune to said Please Insert Disc, I just brought one too. The Version that I got it a orange disc 3.40C. Guys, is this the problem ?
