Nav mapping error

It seems that the icon of the car is always short of where the car actually is. If I'm in the middle of an intersection, the map shows me quite a bit short of the intersection (1/8 - 1/4") when zoomed all the way in.

Is this the norm?

They accuracy of the of the navi is dependent on how many satellites you have in range, and your driving conditions. Also, your exact location on the screen is at tip of the Acura icon on the screen, not the icon itself.

I don't think that is it. I usually have 6-8 sats. The tip of the Acura icon is where I was measuring from. Also interesting is that directions from the nav seem to be accurate, it's just not showing me accurately where I am.

Hold down Alt-Ctrl-Del....
Oh wait, they remapped that in the TSX

Hold down Map+Menu+Cancel for a few seconds, a hidden menu will come up. Then press GPS Information. Some of the other buttons are nifty (Like trip information), but a lot of them are for diagnostic use only.

I have the same problem. Sometimes when I am using the nav, I looks like I am a decent distance from a turn when really I am at the corner where I need to turn. I have actually missed quite a few turns that way.

I have no idea whats the problem because I have at least 6 satellites each time.

The odd part is it only seems to be the map. When it is giving directions to somewhere, when the distance to the next turn goes to 0 feet, I'm right at the turn. The stupid map just shows that I'm still 60-100' away. Sometimes the circle around the car is just getting to the intersection.

the nav cant be right on point. GPS is owned by the US military. And if it were percise for civilians we would have a problem. It has to be off to a certain degree within a few meters is coo but cant be exact. I have the same problem so dont worry its not just your car.

I noticed the same thing today and my buddy pointed out that whenever we would cross through an intersection the very front of the circle (that the symbol is housed in) would cross at the exact same time. I checked it later and he was right. Exactly when I would get to a street, the front of the circle would be there as well.

Let me know if that happens for you guys also.

it may need to take into account where you're actually going to be going. eg...it needs the few extra feet in case you're going to make a turn so the sensors can tell the programming that the car is turning

Any update on this? Unless I'm going crazy, I swear the Nav used to be fine but now the display shows me as consistently being behind where I really am. And I'm driving around the same areas (Chicago) as before, and I have enough satellites, which also haven't changed from before.

What's going on? I'm going to check with the dealer soon but doubt I'd get a useful answer. They'll probably say how it's not going to be precise. But it was precise before...
