My car is falling apart!!

That might be an over-statement, but we'll see...

The metal lid, strategicaly located in the opening of the fuel tank, fell out (or is it in?). I passed by the dealership on the way home, and inquired about it: the service "specialist" assured me there's no ill effect of having this missing, since it is the plastic cap that maintains the tank closed. That made sense at the time... until the bright side of my mind lit up as I drove off the lot, "What does the car need it for then?!"

That's the question I hope one of you can answer... after all, it seems every car out there has one. Should I insist on getting a replacement?

This photo looks so unflattering...

I think it fell inside the tank. Not sure.

Inside the tank? If it really does, then yo umight have issues. Bring it back to your dealer and demand a replacement and get that thing out before its too late... amI overexagerating here?

Uhhmmmm... hate to tell you this, but unless your car is different than mine, it never had one.

Honda's haven't had those little flappers for at least 3-4 years, and I'm pretty sure Acura's haven't either.

I'll have to check this at the dealer tomorrow. The other cars in the family all have it.

My 93 Prelude, 94 Toyota truck, 98 Civic all have the filler neck trap door, but the TSX doesn't have one.

Check other TSX's at the dealer lot and if they have one, then the dealer should put a new one on. Otherwise if they don't have one, then you likely never had one in the first place, and are imagining things.
