i did a few searches, but just wanted to see if anyone can confirm that places like home depot sell wire mesh with a similar pattern to the mesh on the mugen grille?

yesterday i noticed this strange orange hue from the mesh in the sun. and to my dismay, there seems to be some rust forming on the mesh. should be noted that the mesh was sandblasted then repainted by a shop b/c the original owner painted the mesh white.

i guess a 1/2 year's worth of weather and debris hitting the grille from driving have caused it to rust in some spots. i'm trying to figure out if i should just get some new mesh and paint it with some rust proof krylon or sand down my existing mesh and repaint it (which would be more labor-intensive given the pattern of the mesh and trying to remove all the rust in the nooks/crannies).

 

is it metal mesh?
if so just have it powdercoated instead of painted.

 

powder coated is a little excessive. it's just a grille mesh. if i put on a few coats of krylon, it should hold up to rust. chips from rocks on the highway is another story.

searched some more, found a thread saying home depot has gutter mesh and the pattern seems to look like the one on my grille.
