Mudguards question

I just put the OEM splash guards/mud flaps on my car this weekend, however they didn't seem to fit just right, there is a gap between the sides of the flaps and the side of the car. This doesn't seem like it is right, but they only lined up one way in order to get them screwed on.

Does anyone have any clue if Acura changed them slightly between the 04-05 models and 06-08 models? The site I bought them from(and all that I looked at) only showed one accessory, splash guards for 04-08 TSX's.

After reading some of the past threads on this, guess i'm one of the few that doesn't mind how they look on the car, haha.

Found the answer to my own question:

08P00-SEC-200 is the part # for 04-05 splash guards.
08P00-SEC-200A is the part # for 06-08 splash guards.

Dealerfit.com only listed 1 part for all 04-08's. I will be calling them and letting them know this and hopefully they let me return them. They have only been on for 12 hours and it's dry, I can take them off right away, they are still spotless.

You got a bum scoop when you bought them. I've got an 05 and an 07 and they're different. The 06-08 models have different side skirts (that the front mud guards screw to) and the rear bumper (that you screw the rear ones to) is different than the 04-05 models. Oh, and I disagree with what you said about the preference for the mud guards; most of the TSX's I see have them. They do a great job and I wouldn't be without them.

I'm in contact with the place I bought them to have them replaced, they said they would pick them up and send me the right ones, no charge. Great service. I was upset I didn't see this before I bought them.

Glad I'm not nuts, they really didn't line up right at all, this explains why.

+1 I don't understand why you would you have a car without them.

Why not have them ... wash the car regularly ... not that much wet weather ... no snow/salt here to be concerned with ... little or no driving through mud. The lines are very clean down there without the splash guards. But I do understand why some would have them. If I lived up north, I might put them on seasonally.

Bleh, thems is fugly!

If they were going to actually help in any way it'd be one thing but my car spends most the winter looking like it was painted with salt. The only part of the paint that might actually be kept clean by the mud flaps is the part they cover up when installed.

I just took mine off my 04 and I much prefer the look, it's cleaner. I wish I'd done this two years ago when I bought the car.

I'm selling them. If anyone with an 04/05 wants a set, PM me.

Well, you're a gurl. They look pretty.

Audioserf, you didn't mention ... what color? (not for me, mine's 2006).

They're black. I thought all OEM mudguards were black unless you custom paint them?

That's the way they're sold from Acura. If you've seen painted ones, then they were just that: painted (I wish they were available in body color; they look OK on the Carbon Grey 07, but would look better in body color on the silver 05).

YUP-I love pretty things-just ask my husband-
They are not good to have in the snow-it gets caked on to them (especially if it is a sloppy snow) Meaning the kind that is good to make snowmen and snowballs.
will be at the farmer's market tomorrow. (early afternoon)
