For some reason, my car seems to be making this really loud metal scraping sound at random times when the car is moving. It seems to be coming from the left side of the car at the rear. It sounds almost like super F***ed up brakes, but the sound doesn't occur when i'm braking. It occurs when the car is moving, but it comes and goes. It is embarrasing. I'm going to make an appointment with the dealer but i would luv to hear some feedback on what it could be. Thanks.

 

at what speed? i hv some clicking sounds at low speed (<5 mph). dealer replaced both rear shock and the noise seems gone

 

It turned out to be the rear brakes. The pads were virtually gone at 20k miles. I just replaced all the pads with the axxis ultimates and the sound is gone.
