Low gas mileage
I have had my 2006 TSX for a month (about 800 miles driven) and am getting pretty lousy gas mileage. Since I have been doing primarily local driving, I expected to come in close to the EPA estimate of 23 mpg for city driving. Thinking that the computer was not calculating the mpg correctly, I have been calculating based on the number of miles driven and the number of gallons taken by the gas tank upon fill-up. I seem to be averaging 16-18 mpg. (I called Acura customer service, who recorded my concern after running me through a checklist of questions to ensure that I was operating the car properly.) Has anyone had similar experiences?
It took me about 6 months to a year before my engine was broken in and I started getting better mileage. I was around 12L/100KM (~19mpg) before, but now I'm regularly in the 8L/100KM (~29mpg) range.
