Angry Locked in my own car!!

Ok, this may just be a rant BUT if there is a way to fix this I would be MOST APPRECIATIVE!!

My one and only complaint about my TSX is the simple fact that when I am in my car and the doors are locked(due to the genuis placement of the door sill lock knob!!) I cannot simply grab the drivers side handle and exit the vehicle!!

Other cars I have owned have had some mechanism that allows the drivers door to automatically unlock when the interior handle is pulled. As it is now, I instinctively grab the handle to exit the vehicle and damnit all if my elbow has not locked the door and i am locked in again, forced to hunt for the switch to unlock all the doors so I can get out.

I know it sounds absurd but this ONE minute detail drives me bananas. Is there a way to fix this?? Should it unlock and mine is perhaps broken?? Is there a mod that would rectify this???

Thoughts?

Is this your first time driving a Honda/Acura? I've always hated that feature in the European cars, seems dangerous.

I'm sure an alarm install shop could install a module to unlock (all) the door(s) when you shut off the ignition, as with most full alarm setups.

they make an auto lock/unlock module that you can add to your car.

I've only experience the door handle unlock feature on German cars.

All of my parents' Chryslers had it and I liked it. This feature was on their Concorde, Cirrus, and I think the Sebring.

I'm annoyed that the TSX doesn't have it, lol.

Yeah, my old POS Neon did it too. As well as all Fords and I think any GMs without power locks (as the ones with power locks automatically unlock when you put them in park.) Personally, it doesn't bother me. My Mazda didn't do it either. Just a quirk of the car.
