Moving this to Problems & Fixes.

This baffles me somewhat. I'd tell you right off the bat that it's rusted brake dust, but seeing it on the hood is somewhat awkward.

Try and see what the dealer says of it.

I used to see really tiny rust spots on my car (white diamond pearl TL) as well. A good claying took them out. I think it was from brake dust or something that had settled onto the clearcoat and started rusting.

Probably just brown bird drop. Remember it comes in variety of colour and texture. Maybe someday you gonna hear "I got chocolate on my hood and there is obviously no chip". I had a white Maxima and I had seen red/brownish road contaminants that were hard to get rid off. Like lokman, clay bar is the easiest and safest solution.

However, I notice tiny rust spot on the chromo parts.

clay bar it, it'll come out. i get them all the time, a good deep cleaning does the trick. washing wont do jack, its deeper in the paint, but a clay bar will get it out.

chill out, its not rust from your car. it crap flying off other cars, debris, brakes. run your finger nail over it and it should come out. you'll only have rust off your own car if a rock chip exposes the bare metal.

Doesn't sound like rust, maybe tree sap. Clay bar should take it out.

I had the same problem with the rust spots. It turned out to be fallout particles. I busted my hump trying to get them off using clay and compounds. I found the that Meguiers ScratchX got rid of them but the problem is you have to rub each spot on its own for it to really get it out but it did work.

I had this same problem for the past several years..small round rusty spots on the car on certain days. My car is parked nearby a laboratory facility...fumehoods and ducting..probably some rust in the ducting transferred while water samples are evaporating and this condenses out onto the cars. It cleans off easily.

not sure how that makes sense, the link was a post on another forum. if you want proof, go clay bar your car and see what happens.

I just clayed two cars this past weekend, and the difference is amazing. Not only did the little rust spots come out, but the clay also took off bug guts that didn't come out and even worked on the glass. The smoothness of the paint and the increase in shine afterwards simply from using clay never ceases to amaze me.
