Knob on headlight??
Knob on headlight??
Well, now my driver's side headlight is starting to fog just after getting my passenger one replaced two weeks ago. This is the fourth headlight on my car that has gone bad and I don't feel like driving 150 miles this time to get it replaced. Anyway, while I was looking at the headlight assembly I noticed a little gray knob that twists back and forth. I was wondering if anyone knew what this was or what it's function is? I was thinking it was maybe like the knob thing the RSX has in their headlights to let some air pass through the headlight and to collect moisture. Anyone wanna englighten me? Sorry for the crappy pics...I am at work and had to use the camera on my phone.

If you look just above it, there is another slotted piece of plastic. That is usually used to position a phillips head into it and turn. I didn't notice the tradition "teeth" on the silver part, but I'm going to look this up in the parts catalog to confirm/refute.
i to would like to know what the function of this knob is.????????????????????anyone know??????????????????? is it to aim the highbeams????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????it really annoying..i play wit it all the time. but still cant find out what it is???????
I don't think it is to aim the high beams. You cannot aim the highbeams. And I am almost certain that it isn't to aim the low beams, because that is more on top of the headlight. Like I said, I wonder if it is like the RSX vent thing that they got on their headlights?

Okay, I think I have an answer, it is nothing more than the terminating side of a screw to hold the headlight assembly together. I've taken one apart and instead of a screw end, that is more like a cap.

A couple of shots show that there are screws that hold the reflecting sheild to assembles in the back of the lense.
