Is it just me or.....

Should this not be here / count as a possible solution to the problem????!!!!!

some background.... i know that some of us have had the problem with our seat moving forward or shifting during breaking and having that bumpy feeling when moving the seat back and forth.

well i took my car into the dealer to address this problem and that was the end result. the bumpiness has been fixed and from what i can tell the seat dosent move when i break, but seriously.... was a freaking screw necessary???

not only did they do that but they also did this....

and this

is it me or does neone else find this rediculous??? any ideas on what i can do/should do??? any help would be appreciated!!!!!

I too have the shifting seat while making left turns. What does the screw actually do? Did they give you an explanation? And YES, I would be upset about the gouging of the plastic.

they didnt even tell me about the screw... i just noticed it today 2 weeks after the fact while i was cleaning up my car.

i have no idea what the screw actually does.... but it looks like that its holding the 2 pieces of my chair together.

Did your seat shift to the right while making sharp left turns? I am just curious if this is a fix I should look into.

Take that car back and tell them, thats kinda fucked up that they do that without telling you and cause damage to your car as well. I'd be kinda pissed

Agreed. I'd be pissed off big time. They better replace those damaged parts. Also to fix the seat shifting they're supposed to change out the seat rails. Make them replace the parts damaged by that stupid screw.

It appears that the screw was put in place because they broke the brackets that hold the two pieces of plastic casing together. Apparently, they changed the seat rails, but broke the plastic - instead of doing what they should have and replacing the plastic, they band-aid fixed it. Typical Acura service, I'm afraid. Call ACS, have them call the dealer, take it back and have it repaired correctly.

with all above except it being typical Acura servce. I think it depends on the service department. Several members here have had the moving seat fixed and no one has posted damage or a screw solution like this.

I say typical service because that's been my experience with Acura... but I guess that is an unfair generalization. Well call this incident a "Nalleyesque fix".
