Intermittent Power to Fuel Pump - Bad ECM or Bad Ground?
I've recently experienced an issue with my TSX where there is intermittent power to the fuel pump and the car randomly shuts down. If you turn on the key without starting, the check engine light turns on then off- sometimes rapidly and you can hear the power to the fuel pump turn on/off at the same time.
Here's a video: Sound when the fuel pump turns on/off
If the CEL isn't on and no power to the fuel pump, the car will still crank but not turnover due to lack of fuel. I have a basic code reader and I got the P0606 code. Some forums say it could be a bad ECM and I saw there was a Acura recall for this problem, or it could be a bad ground. Any thoughts on how best to proceed?

I have a 2004 tsx and i know this generation had problems with their fuel pump relay. It caused difficulty starting after the engine had been running, ie you shutdown and try to start it back up within a few minutes. Supposedly the cause was failing soldering within the relay. A cheap and easy swap and no more problems. Worth a shot!

You're spot on with the fuel pump relay being an issue. I already bought a new one but I'm still having the random power cuts to the fuel pump. Also, I should mention when this happens, a bunch of relays in the car go nuts and start switching on/off.

Sounds like the fuel pump issue is a symptom, not the root cause. My only suggestion is to run the car and start jiggling every wire loom and cable within reach and hopefully the car will shut off. Any obvious type of electrical splicing anywhere?

I'd give that a try if I could keep it running for more than 30 secs without dying- which leads me to believe it could be a bad ground. This happened once before where I got the P0606 code and then I was able to clear it with my OBD2 reader. Now, when I try and clear the code, the CEL goes out for a second, then you can hear a relay switch flip on under the hood- and the CEL comes on again and then it dies.
