Inner Tire Wear
Inner Tire Wear
First, let me start by thanking anyone, ahead of time, that takes the time to read and respond/help with my issue. Second, let me admit that I am very proud, but also relatively new Acura owner, and so if anything I say is offensive (as I've already offended one Acura enthusiast, get to that in a moment), please note that I am still learning. Finally, I noticed that there is this thread for Problems & Fixes, but also a Tire thread and my question really fits both. So, if I'm in the wrong thread, please feel free to move it. On to the issue...
I'm probably one of many people (judging by the numerous posts I found about the problem showing up in TL's) that have an issue with excessive inner tire wear. A few months after purchasing my TSX (say November of last year) I noticed that the left driver side tire had excessive wear on the inner portion only. As a reaction, I simply had the tire replaced thinking it was missed before it was put up for sale.
A month or so later, I had the alignment done (just out of routine really, and this is where I pissed off the enthusiast I spoke with today) at National Tire and Battery.
At that time, they showed me the results and stated that the Camber couldn't be adjusted at stock and that I would have to purchase an after-market kit if I wanted to make that adjustment. I took the knowledge as an FYI and moved on.
Today, I took the car in for its scheduled oil change and in looking around at the car while it was being serviced, I noted that both the rear tires are excessively worn on the inner edges (smooth not feathered). This creates a serious concern for me because I don't really have the money to replace tires before they should be replaced and not enough to simply take guesses on what needs to be done either.
So, I've come to you guys/girls for help. I know this might sound crazy, but I have more trust here than with a mechanic that just wants to tinker with my wallet. I've noticed that in almost all cases, the alignment report was asked for and so I have included it. Mind you, I'm aware the alignment info is roughly 7 months old. Just wanted to check with you guys first before doing anything at all.

Again, any help you all can provide will be sincerely appreciated.

Looks familiar, the fromt resembles mine when it tore through a tire.
The TSX is very limited on adjustment, as the mechanic said. Adjustable mounts are a potential solution. Here's one option, with no endorsement made:

Thanks for the response Duck. Do you think I would need kits for both the front and the back? I'm not very apt at judging which parts I need, but if I went that route, and looking at the website you gave, it looks like roughly $360.00 for both sets?
Given the wear on the rear, unless someone with better experience can say something, it would seem clear you NEED the rear unit. As for the front, since it is now adjusted to specs (except caster). I would say you can wait. Caster impacts steering effort rather than tire wear.
If you correct the rear camber issue, that should help the tire life. In the front, I would have expected the toe on the passenger side to have worn out that tire first, but maybe that was replaced before sale and the passenger side was still OK then.

Another question in relation to this, if you don't mind. The car pulls pretty bad to the left while driving at all speeds. So much so that I basically have to have constant pressure to the right. Would you say that in caused by the caster being out of alignment or a bi-product of the rear camber adjustments?
