Ignition noise from column
Ignition noise from column
Sometimes when I start or trun off the '04 TSX I can hear a buzzing/shocking sound as if there is a short in the ignition area on the steering column. Anyone else?
Miner........I've heard that buzzing sound in the ignition of my 02 RSX-S. It's only happened several times and is so quick that you almost wonder if you heard it at all....but you did..:-).
I hear this on my '05 AT occasionally. As I turn the key I hear a buzzing sound -- like you failed to remove the funny bone in the game "Operation". It seems like its coming from the left side of the steering column or the switches on the dash to the left.
The starter cranks and the engine starts just fine.
I'm going to have the dealer take a look.

Hi guys, I have the buzzing noise as well recently which it never has before. The noise comes up when making the 2nd turn where the battery starting charging and where it swith on the engine oil pumps. The same problem occurs when turning the key backward from level 2 to 1. Have any one of you ever find out the cause?
I have the same problem
I posted a topic about this problem a few days ago. I should have described the noise as a buzzing noise instead of a clicking noise. I'm guessing that it's not an issue since all of us are experiencing the same noise amongst different year TSX's. I think it has something to do with the ignition disabler (if that's what its called) and the key that we use....like it's trying to read the circuitry in the key or something. I'm kind of relieved that I'm not the only one that has noticed this noise.

I hear ya.... and I double check and triple check w/ Honda Canada..... and beside, my few friends work for Honda or in the industry.... they are claim Honda is the most stupid that cannot modified their own odometer into the original milage. What they did is put a sticker that tells the date and location of dealer where the cluster was replaced, and at what milage.... I know it sounds stupid but this is the fact.....
I've had the same buzzing noise periodicaly for the past couple years. Only happens when I'm turning on the car though. It almost sounds like the little gears that drive the tach/speedometer are slipping momentarily.
I thought for a while it only happened if I didn't quite step on the clutch pedal all the way, but it seems to be a problem with the AT's too.
