Unhappy I dropped a screw while changing the air filter...

I have no idea where it went, and I was not able to see it anywhere.

Will this give me any trouble, or will it eventually rattles its own way out?

You dropped it into the bottom section of the air box right?
You didn't drop it into the tubing running down towards the throttle body, did you?

It should be fine, but it might end up inside your resonator or something. I doubt you would even hear it later even it made it way down there.

No no, I dropped it outside of the air box while I was putting everything back together, not inside. I am guessing the screw is hiding under the box somewhere, because I didn't hear it go anywhere far.

^^ I think it'll be fine then. The only thing that sucks is you'll have to find a replacement screw now.

I always thought you had a screw loose.

j/k If you dropped it outside the airbox then it shouldn't harm anything. Eventually it will shake out. I wouldn't worry too much.

you should probably find a 4th screw, keeping the airbox tight allows the car to be more responsive. Any leaks and it'll be a bit harder for the airbox to create a constant vaccume. I dropped a screw when i did my icebox. Went to the dealership...4 dollars a screw..what a jip...

I some how managed to lose a screw driver the same way on my civic. It wasn't a small one either. It was one of those 16 inch jobies. It didn't fall out the bottom but I couldn't see where it went. I moved the car, not on the ground. Drove around the block alternately flooring it and slamming on the brakes and never heard anything. My friend walked behind me the whole way and nothing ever came out. I didn't even find it when I pulled the engine a few months later. It was the damnest thing.
