I have a 6MT but I start my car with the brake down as a precaution anyways. Last time I started the car I guess part of my foot was resting on the throttle and revved the car up to 4k as soon as I started it.

You have big feet? I'm an eleven and the spacing seems fine.

no.

the concern i have is that i feel the gas pedal is situated too far behind the brake pedal.

i'd prefer to have a hanging (spoon design) gas pedal (such as the brake and clutch).

Size 14 shoes and 6'3" in height, my legs are not 100% straight when I drive the 5AT TSX. I've occasionally hit the brake/gas at the same time. Would love to have about 3-5 more inches of seat travel backwards and/or adjustable pedals not bolted into the floor board.

Size 13 here. The only time I have a problem is if im lazy on the transition from the gas to the brake. I'll occasionaly hang my foot off the right side of the brake and hit the gas. Other then that, I think the spacing is fine.

It's fine by me. My complaint when I got the TSX was at first, I wasn't used to the gas pedal being bolted to the floor. My previous car 99 Accord didn't have that.

Maybe, brake pedal is wider on the AT.

It's designed that way for sport reasons. The TL spacing is just as close.

If you think the TSX's pedals are close, try driving a Ferrari.

Same here for me, I always found myself having to twist my foot more than I wanted to heel/toe. I often wound up depressing my brake more than I really wanted to blip the gas.
Fixed by installing Ultimate Pedals!
The new cluth pedal replaces the clutch cover, so the clutch pedal height is unaffected. But the new gas pedal sits on top of the gas pedal, so the gas pedal height is raised.

I voted "no", BTW.
