how to fix major scratches in door?

Okay, pulled the idiot of the decade move this weekend after pulling a new chair out of the backseat of the car: Pulled the chair out the rear passenger door, took the chair inside the house, then ran back to TSX and pulled the car into the right side of the garage. THUNK! Turns out I left the rear passenger door open and the garage "closed" it for me....now there's a lovely series of scratches in a vertical line down the door, they're pretty darn deep into the paint (pretty sure it's beyond buffing). There's also a very slight dent in the door, pretty hard to see, and I think I can live w/ that. But the scratches are butt-ugly, they expose what I think is the primer (tan color?), very contrasting and noticeable on the CGP color.

Anyone have ideas on how to fix these scratches? Is touch-up paint plus a thorough waxing a possible solution, or is it more serious?

I'll try to find a free photo site so I can post pics of the scratches....

Wash the area and see how bad it is. You might be in for a respray as touch up paint will still be obvious.

^^ agree. Your car is new enough that a repainted door probably won't stand out.

sorry, drawing a blank here. respray meaning dealer-repainted door? to ensure proper paint color? anybody had that done before or have some idea on how much that kind of work costs? thanks again, guys.

That would be my opinion. Get it repainted at a Acura body shop.

You should post this in Wash & Wax Forum. A number of professional detailers visit there regularly so you're more likely to get a professional opinion on what can be done.
