How bad is.....

I have done this a few times...

I will be parking and I come to a complete stop (to park) have the car in Drive or Reverse, I pull the parking brake up and then I FORGET TO PUT IT IN PARK and I turn the car off (in a hurry cuz im already late for work, lol)

Is that really bad for the car?

I would think it wouldnt be that bad since I am already stopped, Im not moving at all.

You can do much worse to the car. I wouldn't worry about it.

I didn't think you could take the key out if the car was not in park?

Ah...I see. Shouldn't cause a problem. I would have been more concerned had you found a way to yank the key out with the car not in park...

It's very tough to pronounce over the forums.

People didn't know how to say domn. It'd come out dom, don, dom-in, don-mah, The Don...

In ny own n00biness, I did this once in a while with my Accord. Did it once when I had just gotten a brand new double of my car key, and when it didn't want to turn back to "0" and get out of the steering column (I thought the key wasn't well cut), I tried sawing it with a dremel, then pried it out. Finally, I felt something break in the steering column, and the key came out.

Turns out I was in Drive

From then on though, I could pull the key out at any position, including when I was driving.
