HID Problem

I did do a search on this and didn't find the exact problem.

The left HID bulb was burned out on my '04 so I got a new one ($150) and replaced it. It burned out a millisecond after I turned on the headlights. Is it the ballast doing that or possibly something else?

I didn't touch it. I know not to touch halogen bulbs so I wouldn't dare touch one of these. It probably would have taken longer to burn out if I had anyway.

if you still need replacement bulbs, let me know, i have an used set laying around. in working condition

most likely its the ballast or the ignition connector. bring it to the dealer and ask them to check it. inspection and finding problems should be free no matter if its under warranty or not.

Not true. If the vehicle is out of warranty the dealership has every right to asses a reasonable diagnostic fee.

That being said, I would recommend taking it to them to have them track down the problem. Those bulbs are way too expensive to risk losing another one. And if the dealer blows 10 of them in diagnosing the problem, they'll foot the bill for them.

I have my right side HID burned out at 62000km ('05 TSX). A few weeks ago, it would be lit up for a couple of minutes before it went out, now the bulb just wouldn't be lit up at all. I suspect the bulb should be replaced. But then I don't know what the exact problem is and don't want to spend a whole lot at dealer. Should I try my luck by switching the bulbs from the left side to see if I need bulb replacement? Greatly appreciate any help here.
