Help! Three warning lights ON at the same time

I just took the car to go shopping and 5 minutes after we left the driveway.....on the dash we got 3 lights ON - ABS, VSA and "brake". Car drives and stops normal, however the lights are ON.

What does this mean? Why are these lights on...all at the same time?

I did replace front brake pads and rotors last weekend, but i don't see how this can be related.

Car has 46k miles.

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

If the brake fluid level is low enough to turn the "brake" indicator on, it will often trigger the ABS and VSA lights as well. That'd be the first thing I'd check.

Brake fluid is all the way up to the max level. I checked it twice.

When i replaced the brake pads last weekend, i pushed the caliper pistons in and this pushed the brake fluid level really high.

Btw....i just test drove the car again ....drove it for 5 minutes and the 3 lights did NOT come on. I hate this. How am i going to take the car to the dealer if the issues does not show up again?!?! The dealer will say that they cannot replicate it and i'll go back home.....until lights come on again.

The ECU has the trouble codes sitting in "history". Take it in anyway and tell them your issue, unless you have an OBDII reader. Then we can tell you the meaning of the codes.

The only thing I can thing of is that maybe the system had an air pocket in it somewhere and that triggered it. Outside of that, could be a faulty sensor, but then again it hasn't come back yet.

danmm7 - where do you live? Perhaps a fellow AZine member who has an OBDII scan tool can help you out.

The 3 lights are symptoms of one problem with your VSA. After driving for a while it has reset itself.

If your car is manual, sometimes you can reset these lights by simply turning the engine off while rolling, and turning ignition back on without the starter. For detailed instructions see my post at https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/nj-super-mega-meet-sept-35124/

I live in Nor California - San Jose area.
I do have a small OBDII tool...somewhere at my old place. I got it form Ebay for $25. Never used it before. I wish i took it with me so i have it in my new apartment. Btw...do i need a special connector for Acura to use it or it is all standard? I got the tool for my 2003 Maxima.

Anyway....i left the car at the Acura dealer this morning. (Stevens Creek Acura) The service adviser was SUPER nice and since the lights came on AGAIN...he was able to see them ON. This is a good thing. HE promised that he'll give me an update in the afternoon.

I'll keep everyone posted....

Thank you!

OBDII is standard, so what fits your Nissan will fit the Acura. Well, nice to know the lights were on when your brought it into the SA. KIT on how it turns out.

Well, my car is still at the dealer. Their OBD tool was broken so they could not read the error codes all day today. They will try to do it tomorrow IF they get thier OBD tool fixed. Yes, i know...it may sound ridiculous but they do not have a working OBD tool. They told me that the car may have to stay there for a week...or at least 3 days.

So, they gave me 2006 Acura MDX loaner and sent me home. I have a nice car to drive, so i don't know if i should be pissed about the delay. Hopefully i'll hear some news from them soon.

They read our ECUs with what is call an HDS tablet. It is nothing more than a Honda specific code reader/ECU programming tool. More than likely that is what is broken, so it isn't a simple OBD reader.

got my car

OK. I finally got my car from the dealer. It is fixed.
They told me that they had to replace the VSA modulator assembly. The warning lights are off now. They also replaced/flushed the brake fluid.

The error codes that they got out of the car were: 61-1 and 112-1.

Do these codes make sense?

Thank you!

I had the same problems with the lights when i took off my calipers to paint them. After my brother in law bled the brakes the lights went away.
