Help (re: tein basics)

I was putting on my Tein basic today and found out that the ring that wrap around the CV boot (sorry I don't know what that thing call) is out of place and there are grease around it, any body know how to fix that?

I'm not sure what that is.......but someone in this forum should be able to give you some advise on it.

Revised title. Maybe now people who are familiar with tein basics will spot it.

That is your clamp for the boot, you might want to get that looked at over at the dealer. Or if you are mechanically inclined, I'd say go buy the clamp at any auto store and replace that one. It's a pretty simple DIY

How to take that clamp off anyway? Can I buy this at local autostores (ie autozone or advance autoparts)?

Thanks

Is grease actually leaking from it, if u squeeze the boot and grease comes out then u have a chance of dirt and grime gettin in. Thats also a sign its not vacuum tight.

If nothing comes out, you're fine. You could then just slide the collar of the boot down onto the slight notch on the shaft.

But if you are so comcerned, i would go to the dealer, but be weary, they might blame the Tein install.

BTW there are differnt kinds of clamps, some are only replaceable with the whole shaft off, some are not.

The dealer sometimes sells these sepereately.

Good Luck!
