Help me sleep... Please.. Dented fender
Help me sleep... Please.. Dented fender
It finally happened! After only 3 WEEKS of babying the car, someone dented the front passenger fender. I am not sure if it was intentional or an accident. Anyway the paintless dent repair guys gave the best effort but couldnt bring it back to brand new spec (although they did a kick ass job). The area has been reworked to the point that it looks like a paint defect (quater dollar size). But like most people in this forum, I am a perfectionist, love the car too much and would like her back as she was. I was wondering if someone had a (or can refer me to someone who has) mint CB front passenger fender. The other alternatives would be to buy a new fender and have it repainted (but prefer the original factory paint) or just have the existing fender repainted (but.... same). I am going to the acura body shop tomorrow to see what the guys there have to say (ka-ching $$$). I have read some threads about avoiding the acura body shop. Since I am fairly new to this area, I do not know of a better alternative.
Any advice or sympathy is welcome!
It really hurts the first time... You guys understand right?

repainting sucks! not only do you need to repaint that part, you need to blend with the stuff around it depending where its at. definately no need to get a new fender though, it can be hammered out no problem.

Yes, soory to hear that. it's not end of the world. Try get used to it. Several members TSX have become ding-dents magnets.

and what the heck is a "passenger fender" ???
Is this a TSX you talking about ?

Absolutely
Three days ago I discovered a scratch on the passanger side rear door. Not through tothe metal but deep enough not to be able to buff it out.
It looks like it was done by the plastic insert on a bumber of a car that tried to pull into a parking spot next to mine and overshot the spot. Its about 6 inches long
.

sorry, somehow I was thinking of bumper. My bad.
The dealer wanted to charge $850 to blend the fender with the door and hood.... a bit too much for a ding i think. They were hesitant to do a spot repair since it might not blend right.
