Help door lock reversed after replacement
Hello,
I just replaced my passenger door lock actuator and it works but it is reversed from the other locks in the car. Like when I press lock on my fob, all the doors lock but my passenger door unlocks and vice versa. Is it a bad actuator?
Any help would be much appreciated.
My car is a 2004 TSX MT

BTW, I talked to my uncle who is an Acura mechanic and he said hes never herd of this problem. This was a Dorman part from rockauto. This is the first and LAST part I will buy from them

Wow, what a headache that must be for you. Although twice as much, get a genuine replacement. Got mine from an online Acura dealer which was cheaper then actually going to my local dealer.

Bad Actuator + FAILURE ANALYSIS
7-13-13:
This wont help the OP since they posted back in 2011, but maybe it will help someone else:
What causes the actuator to either lock or unlock depends on the DC polarity applied to the two pins of the bottom wire harness. Since the wire plug itself is 'keyed' one way, the aftermarket Mfr must have the internal wiring backward. You can re-reverse this by switching the two wires going to the bottom connector at your new actuator if you dont want to go 100% through the entire job again. You are simply changing +/- to -/+ and reversing the acutators 'action' during a given mode of operation.
PS: NEW INSTALLATIONS: RUN A BEAD OF SILICONE OR HOT GLUE GUN ALONG THE SEAM OF THE NEW PART (WHERE THE TWO SHELL HALVES MEET) - DISASSEMBLY OF THE FAILED PART WILL SHOW THAT THE OLD MOTOR HAD RUSTED UP DUE TO WATER/MOISTURE INGRESS. THE SHELL HOUSING SEAL (OR LACK THEREOF) IS NOT DOING ITS JOB.
