when i try to open the console to show the first shallower compartment which has slots for the coins, about half way open it pull open the compartment revealing the larger inner compartment forcing me to hold it down while i open the armrest all the way. is there anyway i can easily remedy this by perhaps loosening a screw or do i have to take it to the dealership. btw it wasn't like that when i first bought it. thank you for your help. sorry if i don't have any pics but let me know if you don't understand what i'm talking about.

 

i think you pulled the upper cover part forward a little bit.

try sliding the cover backward and then give it a shot!
